Sleeping With Sheep When your Not Debating: A Response.

The Henry Rollins Forum (That allegedly supports “free-speech”) has restricted me from posting my responses so I have chosen to post this here as a response to a debate with a specific individual on the here. You can find the discourse at: http://community.ifc.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1053&tstart=0

I noticed that the person took down their argument… I wonder why…. Its ok though… I got a screen shot of it here:

If anything Bush Cut the overtime- Why would he make companies demand to make you work so that they could pay you time and a half? He restructured the O.T. law- as it was restructured 25 years ago. I guess you were just proven wrong by a “car washer”. Again, you have not used one credible source.

You absoloutely did create your own argument and then argued it. All the readers have to do is read above.

When a judge “upholds” the constitution he is tandemly applying the constitution as it has been previously interpreted. When he does not uphold it, he goes beyond what the constitution says by interpreting the penumbra of the argument. Let me make this a little easier for you. A penumbra is a grey area of interpretation- this allows for subjectivity. The Law, as well as the constitution are NOT objective. If it was, there would be no use for the Critical Legal Studies movement (AKA CRITS).

“You are just wrong about the overtime law…”

(Appeal to “Authority”)

But hey, I guess if you say that I am wrong I must be.

I never edited out an alleged statement claiming expertise and although you would like to think that I have you are the only one doing editing. You just read and respond to what you think is on the screen rather than what is on the screen. I am noticing as I respond to this post, you actually just took it down to edit it! Here is a link to the PDF screen shot that I just took! ( http://www.destroyautonation.com/sleepingsheep.pdf )

I dont believe I have ever used the word expert in this forum or in my blog when reffering to myself- but if you think I am an expert Im not going to argue with you.

(Please note: Sleepingwithsheep, has started another strawman- he is claiming something that didnt exsist, then arguing about it)

“You had to go all the way back to constructionism to make an aside that has nothing to do with anything just to seem like you had something to say.”(sic) - I dont even understand what the fuck you are saying… How do you go back to constructionism if it is always an ever-present element to judicial law? (Straw man…)

“More weaseling to say that paying taxes makes him a patriot. Note that he’s backed off using words like patriot and treason. ” - So I guess if I dont use specific words then….? Im not understanding the point that you are trying to make? Wait! In fact, I do believe that I used those words- looking….. no I didnt and thats only because you have moved far from the point with another straw man. I guess this argument has turned into me using or not using certain words.. …(Im getting tired or typing “straw man”)

“All of us pay taxes.” Wait, Didnt you say that: “Everyone pays the same taxes that certainly doesn’t make you a patriot.” In your 7/18/07 post (2-3paragraph)- again you have changed from paying the same taxes, to just a broader perspective of simply paying taxes. (Straw man, yawn).

“No matter how many times you say your taxes support the war that doesn’t make you a patriot or special or anything else. It means your meeting a legal obligation.”- Im not going to get into libertarian theory, but we both know thats not true. If you dont want to pay American taxes, go to another country. I have that option, I chose not to exercise it, Im an American who is paying for this war- That is supporting my country’s position in this war, and that is being a patriot.

pa∑tri∑ot (p’tr-[1]Yt, -Ot’) Pronunciation Key

n. One who loves, supports, and defends one’s country.

Paying taxes is SUPPORTING…..

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source

pa∑tri∑ot [pey-tree-uht, -ot or, especially Brit., pa-tree-uht] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

noun

1. a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion.

2. a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, esp. of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.

Actually I have to do it regard myself as a patriot to be a patriot. I just found out that I dont even need to pay taxes according to dictionary.com.

“Nope “uphold still doesn’t equal “interpret”. I looked in Roget’s and Webster s again today and they haven’t made that change for you yet. You can make up stuff in Corey world so you can feel superior and correct behind your keyboard but the rest of us know its crap. “

Nope… There is no re-writing for me… I think your statment applies to yourself more than it does to me…. WOW!

“Yes, it s a free country (mostly) and free speech is protected (sometimes) so you can say whatever you like but if those statements point out your inner dumbass, well there are those of us you will call you on it.” - I would recommend reading Fish,Stanley; There is No such thing as Free Speech and its a good thing too. There are two types of speech, protected and unprotected. I cannot say whatever I would like. If I wanted to yell “Fire” in a movie theatre- That is illegal, we are not talking about capability- we are reffering to legality, so dont try to spin this one either. Things like Fraud, and inciting violence are NOT protected. I dont understand how you could write “sometimes” and then contradict it in the next sentence.

“So you can blog and rant about the ethics of a company but Henry can’t, why? You still haven t answered that, hypocrite.” - No the difference is I support my statements with facts, which you did an incredible job at defining for me, Rollins bases his opinions on emotion. I guess he has been fucked over by Walmart one too many times.

“Let me see about this academic thing here. If one goes to college and has a majority of liberal leaning Profs, then their minds, opinions, and any life experiences that may have formed conservative values in an individual are sucked out by the evil hippie professors. Yeah, going to college is going to brainwash our young people in to democrats. ” - That was not the claim, again you have strawmaned this! I claimed that you had a liberal education originally (see post from 6/15/07). I didnt say they were brainwashing anyone- you threw that in- not me! But I guess you cant help these fallacies if you actually were brainwashed by a liberal education.

“You and both know the truth about your edit and you blog cite traffic that’s enough for me.” - No, I know that I know the truth, and I know that you made a claim that you cannot support! I called you bluff- now get over it.

I proved your first statment wrong early in this response and as for #2…

http://www.factcheck.org/funding_for_veterans_up_27_but_democrats.html

Here is a summary if you dont want to click on the link:

Summary

In the Feb. 15 Democratic debate, Kerry suggested that Bush was being unpatriotic: He s cut the VA (Veterans Administration) budget and not kept faith with veterans across this country. And one of the first definitions of patriotism is keeping faith with those who wore the uniform of our country.

It is true that Bush is not seeking as big an increase for next year as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs wanted. It is also true that the administration has tried to slow the growth of spending for veterans by not giving new benefits to some middle-income vets.

Yet even so, funding for veterans is going up twice as fast under Bush as it did under Clinton. And the number of veterans getting health benefits is going up 25% under Bush’s budgets. That’s hardly a cut.”

Sleepingwithsheep, I have completely destroyed your arguments, and the only reasons you and your friends would be laughing is if you are looking at each othe naked. I hope you dont choose to reproduce. Have a nice life.
